Angelo Accardi / Misplaced

Paintings and Sculptures Catalog

I was commissioned to design a book project in October 2018 for the Eden International Gallery, featuring the works of Italian artist Angelo Accardi. This endeavor was in preparation for a major exhibition of the artist’s pieces at the gallery’s location on New Bond Street in London. With only six days allotted for printing before the exhibition’s commencement, the task was demanding yet exhilarating.
The objective was to create a comprehensive book showcasing a significant selection of Accardi’s paintings and sculptures, intended not only as a companion piece for the exhibition but also for sale within the gallery during the event. I was granted considerable autonomy in making design decisions, a responsibility I embraced eagerly.
Drawing inspiration from Accardi’s iconic Ostrich paintings, I opted for pink as the primary color scheme, complemented by gold accents. This choice not only mirrored the vibrancy of the gallery but also resonated with the artist’s own palette. Throughout the book, vibrant pink and lustrous gold pages provided visual breaks between the showcased artworks, interspersed with quotes from the artist’s sources of inspiration.
The cover design, in particular, was meticulously crafted to make a striking impression. Featuring a bold combination of black, gold, and pink— echoing the overarching theme of the book.
This project was a fast-paced and fascinating journey of celebrating the rich artistry of Angelo Accardi.
